Mission:
The mission of the Lower Valley Advisory Group is to ensure that the
values and vision of the residents and property owners of the lower
Methow valley are reflected in updates to the Comprehensive Plan for
the Lower Methow Subunit of the Columbia SubArea.**
Role in Planning Process:
Our role in the planning process is to:
1. Share a leadership role with Okanogan County in developing
and updating plans for our identified sub-area;
2. Represent, mobilize, inform and involve “the community” of
the Lower Methow Valley, compiling and sharing information and feedback
related to the planning effort;
3. Liaison between the community, the county and other stakeholders
**The
area has been tentatively defined and mapped as the Methow watershed
boundary from the Gold Creek/school district line in the north to
the Pateros town limits in the south. The eastern boundary is the
ridge of Buckhorn mountain, and the western boundary is the Sawtooth
range. Further work with the county and other citizens will allow
us to finalize the boundaries.
